What's New

Got another set of pictures of LED Brite Lites on a sled. This time we are using a HOT trail sled with custom graphics. With the red hood and Spyder theme, we have added a set of our Accent LED Lites in red under the hood and in the shock towers, a couple of our new 36" flexible strip LEDs along the tunnel, and a set of LED "EYES" on the hood to give the Spyder some life.

In all, this sled has about $150 of LED's on it and really stands out in a crowd. You should see this thing at night. We mounted a rocker switch on the dash to allow easy on-off capability and this thing gets the looks!!

The picture shows the "EYE" kit we sell(1 pair is $19.99) and can be used in any hood or cowling application where you can fasten from the other side. "EYEs" and all our LED products can be found on the snowmobile page or on the Lighting Accessories page and are ready to ship out with your order.

Here are the pictures of the HID kits we just finished for ATV/UTV machines. If you have a RZR, Ranger, Sportsman, or any other ATV/UTV that comes stock with a 880 series bulb (894, 886, 885) this is the kit for you. Look at the following pictures and see for yourself the difference HID makes for off-road!

The picture shows the major parts of a 1 beam 880 bulb kit. All kits from Brite Lites are built with slim compact digital balast and come with everything you need to complete the install in very little time.

The picture shows the major light output difference from a stock halogen bulb, on right side, and our new HID kit on the left side. The HID beam is more intense and much whiter. All Brite Lites HID kits operate at 6,000 degrees Kelvin (that is a color temperature scale for whiteness) More than 6,000 gets a purplish color, and less than 6,000 is yellowish.

The picture shows the light coming from our Laser Lite Brite Lites Xenon Gas bulb (right side) is whiter than the stock halogen, look at the picture above for reference, but the HID on the left side is considerably brighter. ATV/UTV HID kits come with everything you need to make the conversion and start at $299. Go to our Motorcycle page or our HID/Fog Light page for additional information and to order.

Looking for true HID?? Brite Lites now carries a full like of Xenon Arc/Digital Ballast HID conversion kits. These kits are designed to be a plug-n-play installation that leaves no trace (when you sell the vehicle you just pull the kit out), and is easy to do in 30 minutes with simple tools. No cutting wires or splicing, just connect the stock headlight harness to the ballast and install the HID arc bulb in the stock headlight housing and you are about done.

The picture shows the major parts of a 2 beam (Hi & Low) H4 kit. All 2 beam kits from Brite Lites are a servo motor controled adjustable beam, so you keep the Hi and Lo beam like your stock bulbs (these are 9003/H4, 9004, 9007, 9008/H13) that are fould in new trucks like Hummer, Ford, & Dodge, and many others. We also have single beam HID kits for ATV's and other applications like driving lights on cycles. Look at our HID/Fog Lite page for complete details. Kits start at $299 for single beam systems.

The following are a few pictures of our latest LED sled project. This Polaris Dragon RMK has all LED lights on it. There are about 300 individual LEDs on it and the headlight is a LED system. It is our first vehicle to utilize a 100% LED lighting load. Oh, with the headlight on and all LEDs in the brightest mode, the sled draws a total of 3.2 amps, which is less that the power needed to run a single headlight bulb on low beam. Just thought we would share.

LED Brite Lites include our new LED Strips in blue, LED Accent modules in blue, a 4" clear lens LED taillight, dual LED projector headlamps, LED Dragon EYEs kit, LED gauge back lighting, and LED Accent modules for under hood light.

This last picture shows our new Dragon "EYE" kit. The LED kit allows the user to flush mount a small "EYE" LED on a hood, dash, or other surface where there is access to from the under side. The kit includes 2 LED "EYEs" and instructions to light up your monster. These kits are found on our snowmobile page in the accessories section.

Brite Lites has finished a Dragon/CFI snowmobile taillight wiring adaptor that will allow riders to install a LED taillight on any Polaris CFI sled, like the Dragon or any Clean Fire Injected sleds.

Because Polaris is using a non-standard wire routing on the CFI sleds built since 2005, replacing the stock taillight with a LED version has been next to impossible. LEDs are a great way to provide light and are very compact, but they are very picky when it comes to how they are powered. LEDs need DC power, and the polarity needs to be normal. A reverse polarity or switched ground and constant power, will make a LED taillight act like it is burned out. The LEDs will not light in both circuits (run & brake).

Our new CFI Adaptor is a simple in-line adaptor that you plug into the stock wiring harness (at the seat or end of tunnel) and wire the three output wires to your new Brite Lites LED. Wires are coded the same so wiring is a snap. Production runs are underway and product will start shipping next week. The Brite Lites CFI Adaptor is $19.99 and will be shipped on a first in, first out basis. Part number is BL-CFILEDA and is available in the LED sections (with the 4" strip taillight)and can be ordered on our website shopping cart or by calling.

Brite Lites Accent LED Kit - 8 piece round modules Installation option:

I had many people asking on the recommended methods to mount our Brite Lites Accent LED kit on snowmobiles. In this sled, we mounted a module at the foot sturrip, 2 under the hood, and the 4th module out on the shock tower area pointing forward. We repeated this for the other side to use up both strings of modules in the 8 piece kit. The 8 piece kit sells for $39.95 and is available in 6 colors (blue, red, green, yellow, white, & purple)

For a long life and trouble free use, we apply plenty of clear silicone sealant arount the modules and on any wires that are exposed. Any modules under the hood are zip tied to their mounting point and siliconed in place to keep them pointing tward a vent to give the most light off. A switch is recommended to be installed (not included in kit) to allow the operator to turn off the lights when not needed. Installation to power is simple by attaching power to the lighting circuit, voltage regulator, or to a battery. All 8 modules draw almost no power, at less than 1/4 an amp.

Here's a quick snapshot of our portable Brite Lites store for 2007. In the picture, check out the hot and unique strip LED lights on the sled tunnel! These babies are a totally new concept in LED lighting, being a totally flexable strip and 1/8 inch thick! The strips are 36" long by 1/2" wide, and can be cut to desired length with a sissor. All they need is a simple 12 volts of power to light. You can run them from a voltage regulator, lighting circuit, or right from a battery if you have one. These are so hot, that they will only be available at the shows this month and will show up on-line and at distribution centers later this season. The strips are available in 6 colors (blue, red, green, yellow, white, & purple) and apply to any smooth surface with a high grade 3M two way tape. Snowmobile, motorcycle, RV, & boats are just a few examples of where the new strips can be used. We are selling the strips for $39.95 each strip and they come with a 5' lead wire and the 3M mounting tape. A switch for turning the lights on/off is recommended and not included in the kit. We also have a full line of Accent LEDs in round modules, LED trailer lights, and our orginal Brite Lites Xenon Gas headlight bulbs.

Next stop is SEMA in Las Vegas then off to the snowmobile show in Novi Michigan, November 2-4.

ATTENTION FORD & DODGE TRUCK OWNERS: Bluhm Enterprises has now finished our first build of the new headlight bulb that you have been asking for since 2004. The Ford F-150 was the first to utilize a new headlight capsule, the 9008. The 9008, or H13 headlight bulb, is very similar in shape to the old 9007 bulb, but has large plastic tabs, or wings, on the sides or the base to aid in aligning the bulb for installation. These are available in DOT approved wattages and in the Hi-Power Off-Road variety. They are in stock and located on the automotive page, listed with the twin headlight listings for DOT & Off-Road sections.

Fall snow shows are right around the corner. This year, like the past few, we will have a limited number of snowmobile shows that we will have a display at. The first show we'll be at is the Big East snowmobile show in Syracuse NY, October 5-7. Two weeks later, on the weekend of October 20-22, we'll be set-up in the corner of the Snowmobile USA show in Milwaukee, WI. Our final stop this fall is in Novi at the Michigan show, part of the Snowmobile USA tour, the weekend of November 3-5.

Booth Locations: - Just get close and look for the big BRITE LITES banners!
Syracuse - #1211 (new location for us- MAIN Level by Shade Tree)
Milwaukee - #100 (same location is corner of new building)
Novi - #205 (about the same booth as last year in the new building)

These shows are a great way to stop by, visit in person, check out our latest projects and items, and pick-up a new brochure of all our products. We have been displaying our products at the snowmobile shows since the fall of 1993 and have seen many changes, many companies come & go. We are one of the oldest companies running the circuit and we are proud to be able to help snowmobilers see better with our genuine Brite Lites headlights and our complete line of LED products. LED's are becoming a bigger part of our business and demand has never been higher. If you are thinking about upgrading your lights on your trailer, the taillight on your bike or sled, we have the largest selection of LED units to replace stock OEM lights, or to supplement what came stock. Look up our lighting accessories page to get an idea of what we have for adding LED light to your vehicle and browse our trailer LED page for new upgrades for your trailer to make it more maintenance free and a custom new LED look that won't leave you struggling to get some lights to work on your first trip.

We also have our strip dual function LED's available and are very popular. After a couple of seasons of testing, we have a small & long strip taillight LED unit that is very versitle and can be mounted on almost any semi flat surface. Browse around and you'll find a LED that will fit on almost any application. We have heard from folks that are using our LEDs and they are being added to golf carts for road use, the inside of enclosed trailers for interior lighting, on boats for rail lighting, on choppers for indirect diffused lighting, and almost anywhere you can mount a LED unit on a vehicle. The main points of a LED are they draw virtually no electricity, so adding them to a small charging system is not a problem, they last for about 10,000 hours of use, so they are almost a "forever" replacement, and they are vibration and shock resistant because they have no fillament to break, making LEDs almost the perfect solution for any mobile application. Look for yourself and you'll agree, our line of Brite Lite LEDs are the widest selection and assortment of choices for recreation vehicles anywhere. We are powersports enthusiests working hard to improve lighting options. If we don't have it, you most likely won't find it.

Honda motorcycle taillight and turn signal bulb LED replacement notes. If you have a newer Honda model street bike or Gold Wing, and are changing out the stock 3157 taillight or turn signal bulbs to our LED 360 degree units, please read the posting below for careful instructions to make proper fit of the new replacement LED units.

Honda uses a all glass 3157 bulb in their bikes and this is NOT an ANSI standard automotive light bulb, and will cause socket restriction issues when upgrading the lights on this type of bike to an automotive plastic injection molded 3157 bulb, or an industry standard type. All of our Brite Lite 360 degree LED taillight bulbs are SAE & DOT approved, and meet ANSI design standards for automotive use, but the all glass bulb Honda uses has a thinner base due to the all glass construction, and causes the LED replacement bulb to fit too tight in the base before bottoming out all the way down, like the stock glass bulb does.

While the replacement bulb will light and operate without modifications, it is very suseptable to vibrating out and loosing contact. Several instances of this have been reported and a modification is recommended to better remedy this situation and make the replacement 360 degree LED fit snug, and all the way into the stock Honda bulb socket.

Basically, the black plastic base on the replacement Brite Lite 3157 base, needs to be trimmed down on the edges and sides to make it narrower and thinner, like the stock all glass bulb. By using the stock bulb as a guide, one can take a dremel tool and grind off plastic to make the LED unit fit deeper into the stock bulb socket. Once the bulb is trimmed to fit deep in the socket, dielectric grease can be applied to make good contact and avoid coorision. The other option would be to replace the stock Honda bulb sockets with automotive 3157 sockets. This is a lengthy process as the wiring harness needs to be altered and is not recommended.

If you have a Honda and have additional questions, feel free to contact us and we can show you a picture of one LED that was reciently completed to fit the Hondas and they work very well. (Thanks to Arnie in Mankato for taking the time to make us up a spare!)
